O-Jong-Jong Cafe

A 'hanok' is a traditional Korean timber house. Luckily, there are several Seoul neighbourhoods where they are preserved in significant numbers and, in some cases, converted to hanok cafes like this one.

O-Jong-Jong is on a narrow lane, just off the main street of historic Samcheong-dong in the centre of Seoul.

The neighbourhood is a network of lanes lined with small hanoks converted to boutiques, art galleries and cafes, where you can experience the traditional architecture and interiors.

Perfect for taking a rest on a walking tour, while maintaining the historic atmosphere, O-Jong-jong serves aromatic coffee and house-baked pastries in a minimally renovated traditional interior.

In the cosy spaces of the cafe, surrounded by the warm tones of the natural timber, you can enjoy views over the neighbouring hanoks and beyond to the mountain peak of Bukhan-san, as well as a lovely selection of Korean ceramics that includes a sweet little white porcelain Moon Jar.
