Black Small Flared Jar

This petite vessel in Korean Black Ware curves outward from the base, perfect to display some small blooms or leaves, or as a standalone piece in itself.

The glaze has the deep jet-black lustre of the traditional art form, with a subtle texture and a gloss finish.

Black Ware, with its distinctive iron black glaze, has been produced in Korea since the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392).  A smooth black glaze with a rich gloss was perfected during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897), while some Black Ware has a matte textured finish with subtle rust undertones.
