There is a fine scale to these works, and they are so light to hold. This minimalist tiered box embodies the centuries of refinement passed down over generations in the tradition of Korean White Porcelain.
There are three boxes and one lid, all in the finest pure White Porcelain. Arrange them in any combination, set out separately or stacked.
The glaze is transparent with a very slight blue-green tint, and a subtle gloss. There are a few tiny grey or black iron specks on the surface. On the underside the boxes are signed by the artist in cobalt underglaze.

Korean White Porcelain, or Baekja, was the choice of royalty from the early Joseon era (1392-1897) for its high quality and simple elegance embodying the Confucian values of purity and modesty. It is still crafted today using the same centuries-old techniques.
