This understated design is a classic ten-sided form in Korean White Porcelain. The subtle faceting is a contemporary expression of the centuries-old traditional art form.
Both the lid and box are glazed on all surfaces. The underside of the box bears the artist's signature in cobalt underglaze.
There is a slight gloss and very subtle blue-green tint to the transparent glaze, with a few tiny black or grey iron spots visible here and there.

Korean White Porcelain, or Baekja, was the choice of royalty from the early Joseon era (1392-1897) for its high quality and simple elegance embodying the Confucian values of purity and modesty. It is still crafted today using the same centuries-old techniques.
