Small and delicate, this minimalist work in smooth Korean White Porcelain is a perfect bud vase or stand-alone piece. The eight faceted planes are subtly curved and skilfully worked, showing the mark of the artist's hands in the final piece.
There is a very slight hint of blue-green in the glaze, which has only a subtle gloss. There are a few tiny black or grey iron specks visible on the surface. The underside bears the artist's signature in cobalt underglaze.

Korean White Porcelain, or Baekja, was the choice of royalty from the early Joseon era (1392-1897) for its high quality and simple elegance embodying the Confucian values of purity and modesty. It is still crafted today using the same centuries-old techniques.
