The subtle faceting of this vase accentuates its tall proportion, with elegant planes of pure White Korean Porcelain. The piece is a minimalist expression of the traditional eight-sided ceramic form.
There is a very slight hint of blue-green in the glaze, which has only a subtle gloss. There are a few tiny black or grey iron specks visible on the surface. The underside bears the artist's signature in cobalt underglaze.

Korean White Porcelain, or Baekja, was the choice of royalty from the early Joseon era (1392-1897) for its high quality and simple elegance embodying the Confucian values of purity and modesty. It is still crafted today using the same centuries-old techniques.
